My Go Pro Production -“Go Anywhere” kit.

This is where I outline how I move my valuable equipment and self around the world by boat, plan, taxi or tuktuk.

Whats is Flight Ready?

I like to look at is as the efficient and smart packing of 5 different kits.

Camera Kit, Mounting Kit, DIT, Personal and Specialty Gear.

Flight ready is when you have packed all your admin, computer, gear, clothing, and misc. items into four bags logically thought though for contingencies making sure you will arrive or depart from anywhere in any situation with what you need to get the job done.

Whenever I am about to travel anywhere, I anticipate that I will be traveling to the remote jungle in the Congo on 3 connections or to Antarctica on 4 different vessels. I always make sure I am Flight Ready the day before I depart.

The Major aspects to consider when moving between geographic locations are the following…

  • Season
    • Heat
    • Cold
    • Moisture
    • Light / Sun
  • Terrain
    • Altitude
    • Weight
    • Access
    • Navigation
    • Nature. Plants, animals, natural phenomena.
  • Culture
    • Language
    • Money
    • Legal. Passports, Visas and Permits.
    • Hazards / Theft
  • Power / Electricity
  • Data / Internet
  • Project
    • Objective
    • Duration
    • Environment
  • Personal Care
    • Water
    • Clothing
    • Food
    • Hygiene
    • First Aid

Checked Bag. 4 Wheels, Samsonite Hardcase. Or Golf, Ski, or Snowboard/Surfboard bag.

Name Address Tag, Zip – Ties, previous flight tags removed.

Knives, tools, and anything you don’t want ot get taken from you at the airport. Good wheels and handle are a must and if it is a the size of a cabin bag that is better, sometimes you can get both aboard.

Airport or Beach Sleeping leash. Sounds stupid and silly while flashing vision of kids running in-front of there parents with elastics leases but if your are on 7 hour layover over-night and trying to sleep outside a lounge having a tether can help you actually rest and keep your bags with you. Consider it a bit of insurance for your gear and well-being. What is use is a DB strap with a carabiner. Just click the loop around my body carabiner on the inside and pass-out.
